Nightmare Gulch

Nightmare Gulch is a highly scenic & challenging canyon in Red Rock Canyon State Park. This area attracts many nesting raptor birds during the spring when it is closed to vehicles. The MOU with BLM provides for the road to be open to hiking the first through the 15th, then open to vehicular traffic the last half of each month, except for February 1 - June 30, when it is closed to all entry for the raptor nesting period. We respect this agreement to ensure that the trail remains open to vehicles on its current basis. Short Wheelbase vehicles with high-clearance are recommended, full size vehicles not recommended and can expect serious body damage due to very tight or even impassible sections if attempted. This is a state park so please observe a responsible Tread Lightly Attitude & remember to pack out what you pack in!
