The High Desert Four Wheelers Club is located in the Antelope Valley high desert area north of Los Angeles and was established in 1975 as a non-profit organization. We have been involved with the local community for over 25 years. Our club is a member of the California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc., and are involved in many community programs such as:
Adopt A Highway
Adopt A Trail
Desert Rescue
Community Service
Conservation
Training & Education
Vehicle & Trail Safety
Tread Lightly Awareness
In the spring of 1988, the 1st annual Santiago’s Revenge was held in Santiago Canyon in Littlerock as part of the Adopt A Trail program. But due to an environmental study on one of the canyon’s residents, the Arroyo Southwestern Toad, the canyon was closed in January 1999. Since then, we have been searching for trails around the area and have found what we now call Shredder Canyon in Lake Los Angeles. Now the name of the event is Santiago Shredfest. We invited Four Wheeler Magazine to run Shredder Canyon with the Hi-Desert 4-Wheelers. Read complete story here: http://www.fourwheeler.com/eventcoverage/2000_santiago_revised_run/
Our club has
achieved many acknowledgements and awards such as the Lew Siepert Memorial
Award 2 years in a row. We perform community service, promote responsible
use of public land, and believe in educating the public about four wheeling.
